How Do I Join ABI?
Players are welcome to join us year round. We take on new players every Tuesday. You are welcome to fly into Tampa International Airport (TPA) any time after 1 pm, or you can drive into Clearwater. We can pick you up from the airport and get you settled into our included fully furnished housing. You will need to bring personal baseball gear, bedding for a standard twin bed, towels, clothes, two to three pairs of navy shorts for everyday training, white baseball pants, and anything else you can not live without. The apartments have wireless internet, so a laptop is optional. Transportation to and from our stadium is provided, but if you choose to have your personal car there is plenty of parking available. Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in Clearwater, FL. At the former home of the
Philadelphia Phillies spring training site.
Q: How do I get to ABI?
A: Please either drive in to Clearwater, or fly into Tampa
International Airport (TPA). We can arrange transportation
from the airport.
Q: How old do you have to be to attend
A: Most of our prospects are between 19 and 27 years old. You must be 18 or older, or out of high school.
Q: Can I keep my eligibility?
A: Yes, our program does not hinder your eligibility. You are also welcome to take classes at St. Petersburg College, across the street from our housing, or other local universities.
Q: How does housing work?
A: We will set you up in furnished housing at your expense, with other ball players. The guys share rides and usually work the same jobs. Each player will have cable tv and wireless internet, washers and dryers, kitchenware, etc.
Q: How do I get started at ABI?
A: Please email us a detailed bio of yourself, including position, age, height, weight, stats, where you played, what your goals are, etc.
Q: How soon can I start?
A: We have different start dates year round. Contact us directly for start dates. In most instances we accept players on a weekly basis, with players driving or flying in after 1pm on Tuesdays, with training starting on Wed.
Q: Hours of training?
A: We train each morning from 9am-2pm, with occasional variation.
